PalmTara is designed so that your palm never leaves your phone. This policy describes exactly what the app does with information, in plain language.

The short version: your palm photos, your birth details and your readings are processed and stored on your device only. We have no accounts and no servers that receive them. There is exactly one exception, and it only happens when you ask for it: if you choose to share a reading as a link, a redacted copy of that reading is published to a web page. What that copy contains — and, more importantly, what it never contains — is set out below.

Photos and videos of your hand

• When you scan your palm, the camera captures a short video clip and photos of your hand. All analysis happens on your device. Hand detection uses an on-device machine-learning model; line detection is our own on-device image processing. Nothing is uploaded.
• The photo attached to a saved reading is stored in the app's private storage on your device. Deleting a reading deletes its photo. "Delete everything" in Profile removes all readings and all photos.
• Because images of your palm could be considered biometric information in some jurisdictions, we treat them with the strictest handling the app can offer: your palm photograph is never uploaded, under any option, including when you share a reading as a link. There is no code path that sends it.

Readings, birth details and app data

• Your readings, birth chart, daily prediction, chat conversations, profiles and settings are stored locally on your device. We do not have accounts, and none of this is synced or transmitted — except through the link-sharing feature described below, which you have to start yourself.
• Sharing a reading as an image or a PDF creates a file on your device and hands it to your phone's standard share dialog. Nothing is uploaded to us. What happens after you choose an app to share to is governed by that app.

Sharing a reading as a link

This is the only feature that sends anything off your device. It never runs on its own: you choose it, and a screen tells you what will be published before anything is sent.

What is published

• Your hand type and the text of your reading.
• If you have created a birth chart: your rising sign, your moon sign and nakshatra, any yogas or doshas found, and the ruling planet of your current period — as signs and names only.
• Your display name, only if you switch it on. It is off by default.

What is never published

• Your palm photograph.
• Your birth date, birth time or birth place.
• Your latitude or longitude.
• Exact chart positions, or the start and end dates of any period. Only whole signs are published. This is deliberate: a precise birth chart can be worked backwards to the moment and place of birth, so we publish the sign ("Taurus rising") and never the degree.
• Any account identifier, device identifier or advertising identifier.

How the page behaves

• The page lives at a web address containing a long random code. It is not listed, linked or searchable, and we ask search engines not to index it — but anyone you send the link to can open it and can forward it. Treat it as public.
• The page deletes itself 30 days after it is created.
• You can take it down sooner at any time: Profile → Shared links → Delete. Deleting it makes the page stop working immediately. It cannot un-send a link you have already given to someone.
• We do not log who opens a shared page, and the page contains no analytics, no cookies and no third-party content.

Writing to support

The app and this website both offer a form for contacting us. If you use it, your message and the email address you type are sent to palmtara.com so that a reply can be written, and they arrive as an email in our inbox. Nothing else is sent with them: not your reading, not your birth chart, not your birth details, and no identifier for your device or your installation.

We keep the message for as long as it takes to answer you and to keep a record of the conversation, and we do not use the address for anything other than replying. It is never added to a mailing list and never passed to anyone else.

Both the app and this site also offer a plain email link as an alternative. Choosing that one sends nothing to palmtara.com at all — your own mail program sends the message directly, exactly as if you had written to us yourself.

What the app does NOT do

• No account creation, no sign-in.
• No collection of your contacts or location.
• No transmission of palm images, birth dates, birth times or birth places to any server, ever.
• No sale of personal data, and no sharing of it for advertising purposes.

Advertising and purchases

• The free version may show a single banner advertisement and an optional rewarded video that you choose to watch. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which may process device identifiers and coarse data to serve and measure ads, as described in Google's privacy policy. You can reset your advertising ID in Android settings.
• Premium plans and one-off purchases are processed by Google Play / the Apple App Store and, for entitlement management, RevenueCat. We receive no payment card details.

Camera permission

The camera permission is used only to photograph your palm when you start a scan. The app records no audio (the scan clip is captured muted) and does not use the camera in the background.

Legal basis and your rights

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies:

• The lawful basis for publishing a shared page is your consent, given on the screen shown before the page is created. You can withdraw it at any time by removing the page.
• You have the right to erasure — Profile → Shared links → Delete, which takes the published copy down. Uninstalling the app removes everything held on the device.
• Because a shared page contains no name (unless you add one), no birth details and no identifiers, we normally hold nothing that can be traced back to you. If you need help with a specific page, contact us at info@palmtara.com and include the link.
• We are the data controller for shared pages.

Age and children

The app is intended for adults aged 18 and older. It is not directed to children, it is not listed for them on Google Play, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has used the app on your device, deleting everything from within the app removes it — the readings and photos were only ever stored on that device.

Your choices

• Delete any reading, or everything, at any time from within the app.
• Delete any shared page at any time from Profile → Shared links.
• Uninstalling the app removes all app data from your device. It does not remove pages you have already shared — take those down first if you want them gone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
